HIGHLIGHTS
DiGiCo’s flagship, the top-tier Quantum 852, was undoubtedly the major highlight at the Kariotis Audio & Lighting exhibition booth. A large-scale work surface with two engines (essentially like buying two consoles with one surface) that can operate independently.
We also had a ‘world first’ here with the new beta version of the integrated control for the Fourier transform.engine on the Quantum 338. Although the integration debut took place at the ISE exhibition a month ago, what we see here is the latest beta version. As Jaap informed us, the feature will be officially available from late April onwards.
Thus, control of the transform.engine plugins (compatible with any VST3 plugin that can run on Windows) is now in the hands of operators through the work surface of DiGiCo consoles, in a manner similar to the well-known platform of KLANG:technologies which, as is known, is also integrated directly into the company’s consoles.
In turn, Kiah Hassall, European sales manager of Sound Devices gave us all the basic information about his company and the Astral family, featuring the A20-HH, which is the first handheld microphone in the series supporting an expanded tuning range from 470 MHz to 1525 MHz. Also, thanks to its thread collar, in addition to the patented and calibrated CD1 dynamic capsule which is excellent and comes as standard, it can host any 3rd party manufacturer’s capsule. Meanwhile, through the AutoAssign function, it scans and detects all frequencies automatically across all transmitters with the push of a button. Most importantly, however, was its direct automated control and collaboration with the Quantum series mixers.
We also saw the KLANG:KONDUCTOR, KLANG’s largest immersive processor, with 128 channels and the ability for each musician to mix for 16 mixes, while supporting full integration with DiGiCo as you can directly manage each musician’s mix from the console.
A distinct presence was also made by Adamson with the S10, S119, and S7 line array models, while from the point source series, we saw the S10P with dual 10-inch drivers and a 5-inch horn, and the new small installation models with 5-inch and 7-inch coaxial speakers. We also saw the company’s ‘all-weather’ installation series.
However, the absolute highlight of the exhibition was not here at the main Kariotis booth, but in a separate, specially designed space in Hall 4 of the Exhibition Center. This is the immersive system and listening environment by Adamson featuring Adamson’s Spatial Audio Rendering engine, the FletcherMachine, which played in repeating demos throughout the exhibition days, presented by Arlnaut Damien, Technical Manager of ADAMSON (this immersive system will be presented in a separate article here on aLive).
At dB Technologies we saw the flagship of the VIO X series, the VIO X310, a 3-way active point source implementation with RDNET; we saw the VIO L1610 line array from the namesake VIO series, while from the Installation series, we saw the IS210T, a 2-way passive speaker for indoor and outdoor installations. From the same series, we saw the tiny IS5T cube speaker, which is worth seeing and hearing for those involved in installations. Also present were representatives of the Opera series with the Revo 210 and 212 and the DP-ES1203 column in a white finish.
Speakers from the Italian company Montarbo also made a dynamic appearance, with the new Nettuno series taking center stage. The Nettuno 50 in fact (the flagship of the series) could be heard at the Systems Demo next to the flexible, fast, and mobile stage by the Belgian company Konligo (represented by Kariotis Audio & Lighting), while here at the company’s main booth, we also saw the smaller models of the series, Nettuno 20 and Nettuno 10.
We also saw speakers and electronics from Tecnare…
At the stand of TUTONDO we saw Voice Alarm systems, the ELOGIO in-wall (and in-ceiling) speakers, the MONDO T, an Audio Multi-Room sound and video management system for residences and multi-purpose spaces. Next to it were the ARIA di VENEZIA in-wall speakers along with the wall-mounted control units. Also present was the AVS 200, as well as the company’s ‘invisible’ speakers like the 2-way MIRAGGIO we saw (or rather didn’t see, as it is invisible) which are fully integrated into the wall.
Regarding lighting, the HaluPix Duo by PROLIGHTS was the major highlight at the Kariotis Audio & Lighting booth, which also won the best show award at the recent ISE exhibition in Barcelona. It is a 500W IP65 dual-layer LED matrix panel with 7×7 2700K 4° Beams and 21×21 RGBWW pixels. It combines lighting and video capabilities in a modular implementation. We also saw the new waterproof SOFT PANELS from PROLIGHTS ECL Panel IP65, as well as the new waterproof FRESNEL CT+LIP, and the new Jet Profile300LT moving profile.
Compulite presented its entire range of products in a separate section of the booth. Detailed information about the company’s products was given to visitors by Aviv Shukrun, R&D Manager of Compulite, who gave us a tour. As he told us, the company’s consoles are here, specifically the flagship VIBE XL, the Vibey (VIBE baby), and the new PC wing with motorized faders. All of them run the same control software and have the same capabilities; they simply differ in size.
The German company GLP had its own product area dominated by the JDC2 IP, a hybrid strobe with 84 high-performance LEDs of 10 W each, 12 independently controllable segments, and more than 100 static and dynamic strobe patterns.
Vincenzo Casadei of Unirig presented the entire range of electric chain hoists from the DIVO series by Unirig. The newest model among those we saw is the Divo FOUR, a variable speed motor with a load capacity of 500 kg and a lifting speed of 24m/min.
We also saw the DIVO FOUR and D8 plus, as well as the new East Touch Motor Controller which supports 8 Motor Controller channels, features a 7-inch touchscreen for its operation and variable speed control, and can operate automatically or manually while featuring 50 memory positions, a multi-functional menu, and wireless control capability.
Finally (last but not least, as they say), let’s close the presentation with a smoke effect, as we saw up close the new Fan Fogger EC 2.6 by Smoke Factory, which is ideal for open-air stages, stadiums, and large laser shows. It supports a 2600-watt smoke machine and a 450-watt wind machine. The ability for independent operation and control of the two machines creates an excellent haze effect on large stages, while its high-quality air baffle allows the smoke to be routed in different directions.
The Revolutionary Stage by Konligo
Konligo presented an impressive folding stage, which combines modern design, durability, and ease of transport and installation. With its innovative mechanism, the stage was set up in minimal time, highlighting its potential in speed and adaptability. Its design, with curved architectural lines and high strength, caught everyone’s eye, while its construction allows for use in different events and conditions, from music concerts to professional events.
The Iconic Experience of the Adamson Fletcher Machine
One of the most talked-about highlights of the exhibition was the specially designed space for the presentation of the Adamson Fletcher Machine, one of the most advanced sound processing systems in the world. In a carefully designed acoustic environment, visitors had the opportunity to experience the ultimate three-dimensional sonic experience, with sound moving dynamically in the space, creating an unprecedented sense of realism and depth.
The Adamson Fletcher Machine utilizes state-of-the-art spatial audio technology, allowing users to place and move sound in space with millimeter precision. Its presentation at AV MUSIC SHOW 2025 proved why it is considered a game-changer in professional sound production, offering absolute control and flexibility to industry professionals.
