Architectural LED lighting for Industrial Gas Museum’s gasholders.
In 1857, Francois Theophile Feraldi undertakes the project of lighting the city of Athens utilizing industrial gas and in return, the municipality grants him the permission to commercially exploit the factory for 50 years. Since then, industrial gas would be lighting Athens’ streets for the next 60 years.

169 years later, the Museum’s gasholders are standing as industrial monuments and are coming to life by being lit for Technopolis of the city of Athens.
After winning the open bidding process, our company undertook the project of supplying and installing water-proof LED lighting by italian company DTS Lighting, to the gasholders D15 and D4, which are maintained by the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Athens.
The idea, design and lighting study was conducted by renowned lighting designer Mr. George Tellos while wiring diagrams, power distribution boards and mounting systems were designed and realized by our company’s design department.

It took more than 40,000 meters of cables, special constructions*, more than 20 technicians, electricians, electronic engineers and workers to build a well constructed LED setup.
All aforementioned LED units were set up without using any permanent mounting constructions and all the set up is fully reversible so that the industrial monuments will not be affected in any way.
The lighting management of D4 and D16’s lighting setup is made via DMX Creator lighting management software with the ability for wireless operation, stand alone mode and light simulation.

The light units used for the installation are customized variations of commercial models, according to the lighting designer’s requirements.
In more detail, the following units were used:
DTS DELTA 8/144, DTS TITAN, DTS FOS 33, DTS PIXEL DROP, DTS IP 65 FLEX, DTS FOCUS FC, DTS NICK 501 MOVING HEAD, FOS 100.
